Salary Package:

Gross Salary starts at JMD$70,000 per month and is subject to raise after 90 days probationary period. Benefits apply after 90 days probationary period, and include but aren’t limited to Uniforms, Health Insurance, Lunch Allowance, Travel Allowance

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently sorting incoming packages, coordinating their distribution, and ensuring timely dispatch to both customers picking up in-store and our outsourced delivery fleet. The Store Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining order accuracy, optimizing storage space, and ensuring smooth package flow within our facility. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Package Sorting:

    • Receive incoming packages and verify their accuracy against shipping documentation.

    • Sort packages based on predetermined criteria, such as size, weight, destination, or delivery method.

    • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of sorted packages for easy identification and tracking.

  • Dispatch Coordination:

    • Coordinate the distribution of packages for both in-store pickups and outsourced delivery.

    • Collaborate with the logistics team to prioritize deliveries based on urgency and delivery schedules.

    • Maintain clear communication with the delivery fleet and track their arrival and departure times.

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records of incoming and outgoing packages.

    • Conduct regular inventory counts to reconcile physical stock with system records.

    • Identify and report any discrepancies or issues related to package quantities or conditions.

  • Customer Service:

    • Assist customers who come to pick up their packages, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.

    • Provide accurate information about package availability, pickup procedures, and any additional services.

    • Address customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel.

  • Cash Management:

    • Processes financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change

    • Maintain proper records of cash inflows and outflows and may assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close-outs and bank deposits

  • Safety and Security:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.

    • Handle packages with care to prevent damage or loss during sorting and dispatch.

    • Report any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

 

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • 2+  years experience in package handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role is preferred.

  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and labeling packages.

    • Basic computer skills to navigate inventory management systems and track packages.

    • Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with customers and delivery personnel.

    • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move packages of various sizes and weights.

    • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols related to package handling.

  • Teamwork and Reliability:

    • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.

    • Dependability and punctuality to ensure the timely sorting and dispatch of packages.

    • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and assist in other areas of operations as needed.
